Bucket list seems to be very popular these days. Some have 100 things you should do before you die. Some are places you should see. Some are foods you should eat. Some are things you should experience. Places to visit. Etc.
I almost got caught up in this bucket thing. But then I started to see some of the “things” one should do and I didn’t agree with most of them.
You know as Christian we really “shouldn’t” have a bucket list. If we are following Jesus, we do what he want us to do. So unless we are mind reader or see into the future of what Jesus wants us to do we don’t really have a bucket list.
Aren’t we told to live each day at a time? Aren’t we supposed to be lead by Jesus and follow him? If we do what Jesus wants us to do, we are really going to surprised each day as he leads us.
Now I am not saying that we can’t plan time for recreation and vacation. Jesus knows that we need time to refresh and recharge. But when it come to being followers of Jesus – we follow. And what he wants us to do – we do. It almost like Simon Says. Except he isn’t trying to knock us out of the game but to keep us in. Will we do what Jesus Says?
